Western Overseas heeft onderstaande bericht uitgestuurd met betrekking tot de import van gewaxte Amaryllis bollen in de Verenigde Staten.

We have been advised by USDA that waxed bulbs will not be allowed entry into the U.S. and the only options available will be to re-export or destroy the product. USDA has advised that this product is prohibited under 7 CFR 319.37 and not compliant with permit conditions #9 as the Plant Inspection Station must be able to examine the bulbs and they will not be able to do so due to the process that has been done to the bulbs.
Apparently there is a disease alert on these bulbs and so per USDA waxed bulbs will not be allowed into the U.S.
Did explain that there were containers of waxed bulbs that came in and were released and was advised that this regulation will be enforced and any container containing waxed bulbs will be refused entry.

Anthos zal contact opnemen met het USDA kantoor in Riverdale. Naar onze mening vallen gewaxte amaryllis bollen die via het preclearance programma worden geëxporteerd hier niet onder. Met USA en Canada is vorig jaar een werkwijze overeengekomen op basis waarvan gewaxte Amaryllis bollen via het precleaarnce programma verstuurd kunnen worden. De Amaryllis bollen worden door het TEAM voor het waxen gekeurd.

Ik hoop u hiermee voldoende geïnformeerd te hebben en zal u op de hoogte houden van de ontwikkelingen.
