Hierbij informeren wij u dat Bill Miller met betrekking tot het Flowerbulb Research Program in juni twee presentaties zal geven over onderzoek dat in Ithaca is uitgevoerd.

De eerste presentatie vindt plaats op woensdag 8 juni (van 10.30 tot 12.00) bij Van Zanten Flowerbulbs in Hillegom.
In het kader van de Dutch Lily Days zal Bill Miller uitsluitend ingaan op de resultaten van het uitgevoerde onderzoek aan lelie. Dit betreft o.a.:
• Bud sticks as tools for crop timing;
• Postharvest findings: effects of dirty water, effects of length of cold storage on vase life;
• Gibberellins and Fascination to improve leaf quality and flower life in pot and cut lilies;
• Landscape evaluations;
• Cold storage-induced bud necrosis;
• Growth regulators for pots;
• Upper leaf necrosis (calcium deficiency);
• Ethylene problems associated with lilies.

De tweede presentatie vindt plaats op donderdag 9 juni (van 10.30 tot 12.00) bij HoBaHo/PPO in Lisse.
Tijdens deze presentatie zal Bill Miller een toelichting geven op de diverse proeven die zijn uitgevoerd aan verschillende bolgewassen. Dit betreft o.a:
• Landscape trials with bulbs. What is the best depth to plant tulips in the garden;
• Collate: Use of Collate in new ways on daffodils, hyacinths and even tulips (to prevent stretch of the top internode);
• "Making up" cooling on daffodils and hyacinths, if they are initially in a too-cold cooler;
• Many topics from trials that were performed this past spring.
